OUR PHYSICIANS
Valley Radiology Consultants medical staff is comprised of experienced Board Certified Radiologists. Our group of physicians, many of whom are also fellowship trained, are subspecialty trained to provide targeted care for your diagnostic imaging needs. All exams are interpreted by our radiologists, who are always available to discuss exams with both patients and referring physicians.

Allen Nalbandian, MD, graduated from medical school and completed his diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed a fellowship program in Body Imaging at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Nalbandian also has extensive experience and a strong clinical interest in all phases of Women’s Imaging, including mammography, breast MRI, Stereotactic and Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsy procedures. He is an active member of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Breast Imaging and previously served as the President of the San Diego Radiological Society.
Dr. Nalbandian joined Valley Radiology Consultants in 2000 and serves as the President of the group. In addition to offering his expertise in breast and body imaging, Dr. Nalbandian is available to all referring physicians to discuss quality, administrative and special patient concerns or explore new clinical relationships for the improvement of patient care.

Dr. Darcy earned her B.S. in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003, and was awarded her M.D. from the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA in 2008. In postgraduate work, Dr. Darcy was a resident radiologist with LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles and was Chief Fellow, Breast and Advanced Body MRI Fellowship, with Keck Medicine of USC, Los Angeles.
Dr. Darcy is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology. She also holds her Physician and Surgeon License from the Medical Board of California.
Her clinical specialties are in Women’s Imaging (mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI), ultrasonography (including obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound), emergency radiology, and cross-sectional body imaging (CT).
Dr. Darcy’s training in Diagnostic Radiology combined with her fellowship in Breast Imaging and Advanced Body MRI makes her an extremely versatile addition to the Valley Radiology team and an excellent representative of our mission, vision and values. We are confident you will find her to be a valuable new member of our medical community.

Raymond Sung, MD is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed his radiology residency training at Albany Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Sung completed a two-year Fellowship Program in Neuroradiology, at the University of California, San Diego. In addition to providing extensive training in neuro-diagnostics and MRI, Dr. Sung’s fellowship program included specialized training in spine and pain procedures, covering all areas of image-guided percutaneous interventions, including ESI, facet injections, and other interventional pain management procedures.
Dr. Sung joined Valley Radiology Consultants in 2005 bringing the depth of his expertise as a diagnostic neuroradiologist to our medical community. In addition to providing sub-specialty expertise for MRI and CT interpretation at Pomerado Imaging, Dr. Sung performs pain management procedures such as image-guided Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI) and facet injections. He is available for consultation on imaging of all neuro related disease processes and pain management procedures.

Dr. Samuel Luchsinger is the newest member of Valley Radiology’s medical team. Dr. Luchsinger joined VRC in July after completing a yearlong Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In addition to general radiology, his clinical sub-specialties include musculoskeletal imaging (including X-Ray, MRI and CT), and joint and tendon sheath injections.
Dr. Luchsinger completed his radiology residency training at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and is a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned his BA from the University of Minnesota in Physiology.

Dr. Niku graduated from Rush Medical College in 1997 and completed his radiology residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center in 2003. Following his residency, Dr. Niku also completed a yearlong MRI fellowship at the University of California San Diego Medical Center.
After completing his residency and fellowship training, Dr. Niku spent several years focusing on Teleradiology & Emergency Radiology. In 2008, he was recruited to the Nuclear Medicine Service at the VA Hospital in San Diego in order to strictly focus on PET/CT & Oncologic Imaging. In 2014, Dr. Niku joined Valley Radiology in order to assist with their PET/CT program.
